11 month old slimming down
My son is 11 months old. He'd doubled his birth weight before he was three years old and was a student in 20 lbs and 11 ounces two/three months ago. We are still breastfeeding and we are also giving him the least one pureed serving of food per day (that is foursix ounces). At our last weight check (after he previously lost a pound), he decreased another 5 or 6 ounces right down to 19 lbs and 3oz.
Our doc started in (and raised my hackles) and basically accused my spouse and i of giving our son a lot of solid food rather than enough breastmilk. I had been still feeding him every twothree hours (not counting the solid feeding and the sixeight hours rest during the night).
My issue is that as a consequence of his little speech my spouce and i increased our milk feeds and our son started spitting up slightly again (which is the reason we had decreased the feeding time whilst was 3 months old he was spitting so much of up). Additionally we added a milkfeed before giving him solids and decreased the volume of solids (from foursix ounces down to two). However we are concerned that he is still reducing your weight. Also, he pulls off and won't stick to for the entire feeding time. Usually about almost every other approximately feedings he will,Cheap Nike Air Max 90 Shoes Mens Light Grey/Snowflake Sale, although not every time.
I'm wondering if someone else had had a similar knowledge of their little one. I must indicate that based on a few places, breastfed babies will typically be between 2.5 about three times their birthweight at one year for our son that would be between 18 and 1/8 lbs and 21 and 3/4 lbs. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm justified in telling my pediatrician to avoid worrying my hubby about our son's diet plan?
You'll need a new pediatrician
I too nursed (still do at 21 mo). At about 11 mo old my baby was nursing usually Five times per day and was eating a great deal of pureed and finger food. I used his hunger cues along with a loose schedule to move him. He's stayed steady in the 90th percentile since he was 6 mo old. Forcing more about a child than he needs usually backfires in a major way.
If your little one is slimming down between appointments, and you are feeding him everytime he indicates he needs it (breastmilk or solids) then there can be another thing medically occurring that ought to be investigate.
Also, if your son a full tummy 2 mo ago, plus an emptier one now, or perhaps a different scale was utilized, etc. His weight may be off a lttle bit. My very own baby gained less than a pound from 912 mo, and 3 pounds from 1218. But we used different scales each and every time (long story) therefore i know that it isn't quite accurate but also not worry about.
Find a different pediatrician which will assist you to truly solve the challenge inside a constructive way, if there even is an issue. But in addition, don't neglect the fat loss, in case this is a problem.
Another thought, (still find another doctor) but a One year old should have only 1624 ounces of milk and become weaned from formula (but remember to breastfeed for extended). Point is simply by 11 mo your son or daughter should be getting a substantial volume of his calories from solids,Cheap Nike Air Max Classic 91 BW Shoes Mens Black/Red/White Sale, not nursing. He should eat 36 oz of solids for the majority of of his meals,Cheap Nike Air Max LTD Shoes Mens Black/Gold Sale, and may have a minimum of 3 meals of solids. Try giving him fattier solids like avocado,Cheap Nike Air Max Classic BW Shoes Mens Black/White/Red Logo Sale, fish, ground beef, etc.
Plus you say he'll not nurse the complete feeding time babies get more efficient at nursing,Cheap Air Force Ones Mid European Exclusive Sneakers Sport Royal White Sale, and several will get serveral ounces in a couple of minutes. If he pulls off and won't latch back on, he's full.
Consult a physician, however would make an effort to increase his solid foods, and introduce fingerfoods, but keep on nursing a couple of times each day that has good health too. Here are some links along with other posts I wrote regarding introducing finger foods. You may will find them helpful.
